    Gmail plasmoid errors after upgrade

    Hello

After an update with a reboot yesterday my gmail plasmoid needs to have all my gmail accounts re-entered after I logout or reboot, it works fine then it's just really annoying, as I shutdown my laptop a lot during the day, I wondered has anyone else noticed this problem, and if so how did you fix it?, I have uninstalled and re-installed the plasmoid, but this doesn't help.
I am running 11.04 with the kubuntu kde backports repo enabled, so I have got the latest version of kde (4.7).

    cheers

General help on the gmail plasmoid can be found here

    http://code.google.com/p/gmail-plasmoid/

Following updates of KDE, issues can often be found to be due to the package "plasma-scriptengine-python"
which doesn't always get upgraded with the rest of KDE

I tried that before posting Mr the liquidator sir, and no joy I'm afraid, I suppose I'll have to wait for the plasmoid to be updated as well, I hadn't really realised 'till things went wrong with the plasmoid that there's a real lack of gmail notifiers for kde, I run docky instead of a bottom panel, and there's a gmail notifier for that, but it doesn't work in kde either, if you do a quick google search you'll find plenty of people posting about the lack of them, I wonder why this should be, coming from the gnome desktop where there seems to be quite a few this seems a bit odd.
ah well! thanks for the reply.

Re: Gmail plasmoid errors after upgrade

I'm running kde 4.7.0 and my gmail notifier is working as it should.

Might be a good idea to reconfigure it - uninstalling and reinstalling won't change anything I'm afraid. I'm at a win box at the moment so I can't be 100% but you should find a hidden file for it in (I think!) /home/ .kde/share/config. Can't remember the full name but it will contain the term gmail. Rename the file and you should then be able to reconfigure the plasmoid.

Thanks for the reply Liquidator, I'm having real trouble with kde my friend, my fault I know, I find dolphin an odd file manager, everything was so much easier in the konqueror days, anyway I don't seem to be able to find any (.) files in dolphin or konqueror, I do hit ctrl + h but nothing appears I can't even find it from the red root folder, honestly what's the point of this folder?, so I'm obviously not doing something right and I can't follow your suggested path to :- /home/ .kde/share/config, as I can't find any hidden (.) files.
Looks like my six month experiment with kde4 is going to end in disaster, Xubuntu after the 13th methinks

            <CTRL>+H?

<ALT> . in dolphin or go View->Show Hidden Files. Honestly, we're not talking rocket science here.
