    KDE 4.7 PPA for 11.04?

Anyone know of a KDE 4.7 PPA for 11.04?

it will be in the usual ppa, and will be announced on Kubuntu.org when the packages are all done, or at least uploaded to the ppa's build queue

I expect it will be announced tomorrow barring any small glitches

        kubuntu-ppa/backports

        sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

Also, although it's kind of hit and miss on whether it works or not you might want to install ppa-purge from universe in case the 4.7 upgrade borks your system. ppa-purge doesn't always work but it's something to try before reinstalling

edit: I did notice when I added the repo that it put an extra 'n' in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/kubuntu-ppa-backports-natty.list that has to be removed for the repo to work correctly.

So, you say that 4.7 might not fit with 11.04?

No, I'm saying that ppas are an unsupported upgrade path and that *sometimes* things don't work the way we think they should.

So, we should wait to be added to a main repo in order to update the system?thanks.

I've been mad excited to try the facial recognition in Digikam 2.0.

So I've added the backports ppa and, despite it being at 2.0 in the KDE announcement, it's still at version 1.9. Argh!

Don't tell me I've got to wait until October?

                          You can install the ppa:

                          http://www.mohamedmalik.com/?p=1019

but be careful, as digikam may draw in other packages that might cause problems.
                          No guarantees or promises.
What you might want to do is install the ppa, do the apt-get update but NOT the dist-upgrade, then apt-get install --reinstall digikam and then de-activate the ppa.

Digikam2 from that repository depends on package libkdcraw-20 (ppahilip5/extra)which is in conflict with libkdcraw20 (ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports). Same packages with different name overwriting each other.

Try Digikam2 rebuilt for KDE 4.7 from https://launchpad.net/~philip5/+arch...untu-backports , but wait because now building.
