What do you recommend for audio conversion software? I have some music flies in .flac format that I need to covert to MP3 for my music player. I also have some MP3 files with some dead space at the end that I would like to trim off. Prefer to keep it KDE, unless there is something from Gnome that just rocks the audio world.

Re: Recommend audio conversion software?
when i right click on a music file i get an option in my action menu to "convert to.." with several formats. its possible i have added a service to dolphin , but you can add them also just go to configure dolphin -> services -> get new services. im not sure how this would work if you wanted to process in batch but for single files it seams the easiest and quickest way to convert. for trimming audio your gonna want audacityMark Your Solved Issues [SOLVED]

Re: Recommend audio conversion software?
I agree that to trim the files, audacity is the way to go.
So far as straight conversion is concerned, you could try perl audio converter (it's in the repos).
Once installed it will be available in the right-click menu with a quite wide range of formats and options. One point though, it seems that ipods have an issue with the files created by it, but other media players seem fine.
