    Re: Shadows don't appear

I'm updating Kubuntu right now to KDE SC 4.7. I have the KDE-full package installed as well, just fyi. I'll see how it holds up afterwards.

I have officially updated to KDE 4.7 and I am impressed. All the shadows work PERFECTLY and beautifully! A lot of the effects (especially the fade effect) are so much more smooth and pretty than before. I am stunned.

I'm with the people who don't have shadows, I updated to 4.7, and it was amongst the first thing I noticed; my themes are along the darker side, so I put my shadow as a fairly thick bar around popup windows and the such, and made it red so that it would stand out. There isn't even a 'shadow' option in the desktop effects for me, so I don't know why or where the problem is in my case

You're right! There isn't a Shadow desktop effect anymore. I can't even change the settings if I wanted to (although they look fine to me). I checked to see if the regular shadows (menus, combo boxes, etc.) were being controlled by Oxygen but I can't find any new settings.
