    after an update gmediafinder fails to start with this message:
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/bin/gmediafinder", line 25, in <module>
    from GmediaFinder import gmediafinder
    File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/GmediaFinder/gmediafinder.py", line 37, in <module>
    from GmediaFinder.pykey import send_string
    File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/GmediaFinder/pykey.py", line 11, in <module>
    import Xlib.display
    ImportError: No module named Xlib.display

    Re: gmediafinder

    ImportError: No module named Xlib.display
    check if python-xlib is installed

      Re: gmediafinder

      well sigh - Another update came along and now it starts but the "download" option is
      missing. I did check for python-xlib and it is there now.
      I do not understand about the disappearing "Download".

      Thanks again.

          not a solution to your prob .......but check out minitube it works great @hear and looks to be about the same thing as gmediafinder + it's in the standard repo (universe) so no PPA

            However, you WILL need a PPA to get the latest (1.7) version of Minitube, as only 1.5 is in the current (11.10) repos: https://launchpad.net/~ferramroberto/+archive/minitube

            But I agree, minitube rocks. It's so nice to not use Flash an, therefore, experience far less bitrate / buffering issues.

              Hi there
              Here I am again!
              Every once in a while I check out gmediafinder & minitube. They Have not worked in a long long time. Not
              that things do not change, but they still do not work! I installed Kubuntu on a USB3 disk attached to a System 7
              box. Still neither of these things work. Has some one written some code just to exclude me?
              Clearly I can live without them as I can usually get things through Firefox but but but...
              :-(
