    Reload - Solved

Does anybody know the rationale for why the Firefox developers dropped the "Reload" function in the new Firefox??

It seems that I need the function at least 5 or 6 times every day and sometimes more. It is driving me crazy trying to reload active pages that are changing and having to go through the hoops required to reload pages.

It seems to me that the "new" Firefox 5 is dropping functionality in order to provide a slimmed down screen appearance and losing it's value as a web browser. The "Reload" function is gone, the toolbar is gone. Thankfully they haven't gotten rid of the bookmark bar yet, but I have a fear that it will be going in a future release also as being not "necessary" and to release the screen real estate to display web pages.

Hmmm - maybe I should suggest to the Firefox developers that they get rid of everything except the window frame. Then they would have maximum screen real estate for displaying a web page. You determine the web page when you invoke Firefox, reminiscent of the old command line environment. Need a different web page, drop out and re-issue the command line with a new web page. Minimum functionality, maximum use of the screen. Any bets as to whether they would take it seriously >

    Re: Reload

I have the reload button in FF5, it is just to the right of the address bar.

they do seem to be aping Chrome's slimmer style, I personally like it myself. Google's browser has taken a fair amount of steam and attention away from the venerable Firefox, so maybe this is part of why they are tweaking the layouts. All the toolbars can easily be enabled/disabled, so it is not that anything has actually been removed, really.

Also universal in web browsers, including Firefox, is the fact that "F5" will always be faster than any re-load button. And it's still there

Would you please give step by step instructions on how to place a Reload function on any toolbar!!!

I have tried to accomplish this a few times and can find no reload function anywhere in FF5. There is no reloadfunction listed under any of the top row groups: File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Yahoo, Tools or Help.

I have tried to customize the toolbar to include the Reload function by clicking View->Toolbars->Customize and using the icons displayed but there is NO Reload function icon displayed.

Hmmmm - I read the FF manual and don't recall seeing that part of the bar explained. Must have missed it somehow. Okay after some searching of the new features page in the help site, I found where they point out the reload button.

              Thanks
