Updated Amarok, now he's gone

Hi everybody, I'm new to Kubuntu and new at this forum!

I use Kubuntu 11.04, upgraded KDE to 4.6.3.

Yesterday I tried to update Amarok to 2.4.1, did this by apt-get.

Now when I try to run it I get this message

vinicius@vinicius-desktop:~$ amarok
amarok: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libamaroklib.so.1: undefined symbol: _ZTIN6TagLib3MP44FileE

I've readed about this error in many threads, but generally the people had a problem with libtag at the /bin/local folder.

I don't have this problem and nothing seem to solve this.

Tried to uninstall, reinstall, remove all libtags dependencies, etc.

Can someone help me?

BTW, I just removed the entries for taglib at my Home folder.

Still won't work.

Looks like you have manually compiled both taglib & taglib extras. You need to uninstall these first, goto the taglib & taglib-extras build folder and run sudo make uninstall, then remove the folders. Next reinstall libtag-extras1 libtag1-vanilla libtag1c2a:

sudo apt-get install --reinstall libtag-extras1 libtag1-vanilla libtag1c2a

I've already removed them.

Then I installed from Kpackage.

Now, I tried to reinstall these with apt-get, and continue with the same error:

Somehow you didn't completely removed it since this file /usr/lib/libtag.so.1.7.0 still exist. Now please paste the output of below command:

ls -al /usr/lib/libtag*

Obs.: In my /home/vinicius/Documentos/taglib-1.7/taglib-1.7-build/ folder, i got this message trying to uninstall :

vinicius@vinicius-desktop:~/Documentos/taglib-1.7/taglib-1.7-build$ sudo make uninstall
[sudo] password for vinicius:
make: *** Sem regra para processar o alvo `uninstall'. Pare.

Or in english, "there's no rule to process the targee 'uninstall' . Stop"

So, can I do it manually?

Try it again in /home/vinicius/Documentos/taglib-1.7 or /home/vinicius/Documentos/taglib-1.7/taglib-1.7-build/taglib

Hi, it's me again!

The problem returned. For the third time.

I do what ubuntuku said, then a few days later, the problem come back. So I have to do it again.

Any suggestions?
