Firefox doesn't honour font settings

While making my initial changes to the desktop I briefly set fonts globally to Ubuntu, 11 pt, bold. I didn't like it so I changed it back. The problem is that firefox somehow got stuck with this terrible setting and i'm out of ideas how to sort it out. This is the application font i'm talking about, not web page content.

I have tried: deleting ~/.mozilla/; deleting ~/.font*; "fc-cache -f -v"; restarting; and purging and reinstalling firefox.

Any other ideas anyone?

Firefox is a Gnome-based application. As such, it uses GTK libraries, where as KDE uses QT libraries. Not all GTK applications 'play nice' with Kubuntu. So, give this a try. First, close Firefox. Then:

System Settings > Application Appearance > GTK+ Appearance > Widget style:

If it reads Raleigh change it to Oxygen-gtk. Click on Apply. Now launch Firefox.
