    very bad sound in amarok

    Hi,
Amarok was working fine until yesterday, and now it gives terrible sound when playing back a file - like lots of static mixed ontop of the music. All other system sounds are normal, im running Amarok 2.4.0 on 11.04
    Thanks:<br />Using a Toshiba A300-21H ,3GB ram,Intel Core2Duo 2Ghz,Mobile Intel® GMA 4500MHD,intel wifi link 5100. Tux wants you!

    Hi,

I'm getting this static crackle too.

When I fire up gba emulator - it crackles for a good while. It seems to sort itself out if I open and close windows but it is very annoying on each reboot.

Tried to uninstall pulseaudio and go purely with alsa but didn't have much success with that. So now back to pulseaudio.

I'll keep looking for a solution.

    thanks
    robert.

You could always try installing the Xine Phonon backend and using that. I used it for a while until Amarok's Equalizer was supported with Gstreamer.

Also, check Amarok's equalizer. The Pre-amp may be up to high which would produce a static.
