    [SOLVED]I hate Adobe Flash[SOLVED]

I continue to have this problem every time an Adobe Flash upgrade is installed. [Sighs] When the package manager tells me in a very clownish sounding voice "Hey you got some updates to install" I usually comply and leave out the flash upgrade, the reason being, last time I upgraded to the new flash, I was unable to view anything that had flash in it, youtube ect., I'd get a message where the video would be that told me I needed to upgrade. Last time this happened I found some way to fix the problem, but now, I can't remember. First, do any of ya'll know what I'm talking about? Second, how do I fix this?

IMO: Anything from Adobe is actually a virus...

So is your issue that you want to lock the flash version? If so, it depends on what package manager you're using or you can use "pinning" for apt-get, which I believe will cover all package managers.

i personally love firefox. but i think your adobe problem will be solved if you install Google Chrome.. it has in built flash and pdf support..
If you want to pin app to previous version.. this might help:

      Q. How to pin a program to its old version?
      A. GUI based package manager normally have this functionality. Otherwise,
      1. check if program is in its older version: sudo apt-get -s upgrade
      2. kdesudo kate /etc/apt/preferences
      Edit it: e.g.
      Package: wicd
      Pin: version 1.6*
      Pin-Priority: 1001
      3. sudo apt-get update
      4. sudo apt-get -s upgrade

that program will no longer will be in upgrade list..

Im not trying to send you off the farm but the "Unity browser"...it is unbranded played youtube with no setup.

Don't know what is going on with that, but it may be an indicator of "things to come".

+1 for FlashAid. Must-have FF add on, and no Flash issues. Ever.

Love Flash-Aid. Although I had to make an additional tweak to get flash to run properly in full screen mode.

System Settings > Desktop Effects > Uncheck "Suspend destop effects for full screen windows".
