OK, so they're not really ugly, but what happened to the cool colorful icons I thought were going to be in the taskbar? (was that just Gonme? and what is Unity?) And is it just me, or does it seem Natty boots more slowly than 10.10?

The task bar icons were changed some while back - late in Jaunty I believe. Can't speak to the boot time, but I don't think it's any slower.Windows no longer obstructs my view.

The colored icons can be brought back - search for it, there's several posts.
Re: you boot time, I felt like my boot was slower at first but it seems to have improved. You might look into your log messages and see what's up.
IME network and hard drive mounts are usually the slowest part in the boot.
Currently, my nfs shares cause the boot to "hang" for 20-30 seconds or so.Comment
