Nvidia binary 270.xx + Konsole resize = system lockup?

Any of you guys with Nvidia binary 270.xx driver get system lockup when trying to resize Konsole?

I got it even with kubuntu 11.04 final ! and that made me switch back to to ubuntu 11.04, i even tried xubuntu 11.04 and liked it, i hoped they fixed this bug, but it seems they didn't yet !

For now you could solve this problem by disabling desktop effects. It seems that is a NVIDIA driver problem.

Thanks, guys. I thought my set up is messed up. I like my desktop effects so I'll just avoid resizing Konsole for now.

From https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...rs/+bug/760632 I got a useful temporary fix. Invoke konsole with --notransparency and it does not crash when you resize.

You could update to the latest nvidia driver, where this problem is solved. At least the new driver solved this issue for me. http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-d...07-driver.html

fixed my problem. Follow the instructions on the site.
