No thanks I don't use worthless pulseaudio. I have better things to do with my time than waste it on pulseaudio. Also have to much money invested in sound system for snap, crackle & pop or no sound.
If you want a OS that does not use worthless pulseaudio.Try aptosid KDE or Xfce, Pure Debian Gnome, Xfce, Epidemic which is KDE based on Debian Testing. I can have sound working in less than 2 minutes after install by adjusting volume levels. On all of these system and will have great sound. No special setup or configuration just works.
For the record, I run aptosid 64-bit, KDE with phonon and pulseaudio, and have excellent sound, with and without headphones and webcam, and including on skype 2.2. Just FYI.
Pulseaudio installed here, and working just fine. Natty 32-bit, fully up to date, KDE 4.6.2.
Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
