[This is on another of my kubuntu-machines - it seems we have a generic problem with the upgrade through Settings.]
On this machine, the usual path through Settings->Software Management->Upgrade fails very quickly: It offers oneiric as new upgrade, I click on it, I enter my password, and it will say that it is already upgraded. Also this machine is a totally standard natty, has never seen any betas or so.
Also this machine, when I run do-release-upgrade, starts the manual upgrade process correctly and has no notion of 'being upgraded already'.
These two different machines that both fail with the Settings->Software Management->Upgrade while they work properly through the manual upgrade, are a clear indication of a problem in the applet.
