Too many entries in Grub menu

I have a *buntu, Win7, XP boot system.

XP is on an old DELL disk, with two hidden partitions. One for system tools, and one for XP recovery.

These two last are seen as separate entries, looking like some kind of Win 2000. For me this is no problem, but I'm not the user of the PC, so it can lead to confusion and possibly damage.

I guess it should be possible to write a file in /etc/grub.d/ that does this. But I am at a loss to understand where to begin in order to make such a file.

So, please: Where do I find how to remove the two false entries?

Start up your favourite package manager and install kde-config-grub2.
In case you are still using legacy grub install startupmanager.
