      You're not giving us much to go on details wise but I doubt your nvidia driver is activated.

      Read through /var/log/Xorg.0.log and see what driver is enabled. Open a terminal and type dkms status and post the response.

        Hold on, a reboot fixed things, resolution back to "normal" and all good now i think. Thanks for all your help!!!!

          Activating kernel drivers for video is one of the few things in linux you must reboot to complete.
