    Had to go back to 10.10

    Sadly, I had to uninstall 11.04, and reinstall 10.10 on my laptop
    The problems with my Acer TM5520 were just too many and too serious:

    * 802.11n wireless wouldn't work - neither the built-in Broadcom, nor the USB D-Link
    * KShutdown didn't work
    * Several issues with Amarok
    * Crashes when USB perifs were uninstalled

    Maybe there are workarounds for some of the problems, but it's just not worth it. Took a couple of hours to reinstall 10.10, and now everything runs like a dream again

    OK, KDE 3.5.x isn't as pretty as 3.6.x, and I have to install Firefox 4.x manually. But I can really live with that

    There are some issues with 11.04 on my HTPC as well - like strange Amarok crashes - but I won't do anything drasticfor now.

    Good to know I wasn't the only one with wireless issues. Both my notebook and netbook had no wireless whatsoever. So reverted back to 10.10 and been working fine ever since.

    But on the two desktops without wireless, so far I've had no problems with 11.04.

      Both my laptop and htpc worked with 802.11g wireless, while running 11.04. Normally, though my htpc is connected via ethernet.

      Btw, I also have an extremely annoying problem with the htpc and 11.04: when I change from full screen to window in Smplayer, the whole machine freezes; probably a total x11 breakdown. Nothing to do but a forced reboot (haven't tried remote login).
      Doesn't happen with VLC or other players.
