Re: Printer problem
Open the cups interface by entering localhost:631 in your browser. Click on the Printers tab. Is the printer listed there? If so, click on it and select Print Test Page under the Maintenance tab. A window will open showing the progress of the print job. If it fails to print, an error message will be produced. That will give us an idea of what the problem is.
If the printer is not listed when you open the Printers tab go to the Administration tab and add the printer. Then repeat the steps above.

Re: Printer problem
I did a Google search for Canon Pixma MG5250 cups and found out you are not the only one having problems getting this printer to work. Suggest you do the same, lot's of info. I know it's too late now, but it is always a good idea to check the Linux compatibility of any hardware before purchasing it.

Re: Printer problem
There are some files in Ubuntu that may or may not be installed in Kubuntu.
Run the following command at the CLI and see if that fixes the problem.
Code:sudo apt-get install libgtk2.0 gettext libnss3 libnspr4

Re: Printer problem
Trim it down, removing data from the top (oldest) until it's 128kb, then attach it. Likely, it's endlessly repeating data anyway.
Or try compressing it an attaching that. You'll have to add .txt to allow it to be uploaded.
