Acer Aspire One 721 sound problems

Hi all,

New to the forum, but have a question already.

I've recently installed Natty on my aspire one but I am having trouble with sound. The start up sound plays fine, as does all the test sounds in the audio setup. However, there is no sound for anything else. I've tried browsers, vlc placer, amarok etc. and it is the same situation.
Tried playing around with the audio settings but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? How was it resolved?

check in kmix to be sure you have the correct sound card selected and install aslamixer and be sure in it your "pcm" channel is turned up all the way .

Search the forum there are lots of threds like this and mostly the same few issues are responcible.
