Some buttons don't work on Inspiron N5010

On my Dell Inspiron N5010, the battery and disable/enable touchpad buttons doesn't work.

First row 4rd and 14th. They worked on Ubuntu 11.04 and work with Windows 7.

Fn keys and music controls, screen brightness controls,wireless buttons work fine by default.

Its just that when i press the disable touchpad button, the touchpad is not disabled. On Ubuntu, when i would press the battery button, a pop-up would come and say how battery i got left.

Are you pressing the fn key (between the right ctrl and the Windows button) and the specified Function key for Battery and Touchpad?

As to the touchpad, you can look at installing (if it isn't already) kde-config-touchpad. If it is installed it appears under Utilities as synaptiks. When launched it will load to the System Tray. You can configure the touchpad to be turned off when a mouse is plugged in, which is what I have it set to on my laptop.

Yes, I know that. By the way, touchpad is disable by default on 11.04 when pressing Crtl+Alt+T. The thing is the functions keys that show battery and enable/disable keyboard don't work.

Anyways, our issue is not to set the computer in a certain way like disable touchpad when mouse is connected etc. We are just saying that the shortcuts buttons don't do anything.
