nvidia vaio AW 9600m GT screen backlight no control, please Help.

Hello!

First of all, thanks in advance for anybody that may be reading this, since several weeks ago, I am in the quest for try to fix the backlight control on my vaio AW-290J, but until date no luck after try so many recipes and fixes from many places around the net.

The trouble is that the backlight have no control and always is at 100% with a great energy waste and great eye hurt and fear for may cause harm too.

So by now, I already installed many fixes, but this link provides some info but I didn't have luck in solve the issue, the link is:

I already installed the nvidia-bl-dkms deb package from the repo:

but still don't have luck with it, and also try with the deb nvidiabl-dkms_0.67_all.deb from this link

but also no luck.

I am almost desperate because can no work more than an hour since my eyes are like burn, so, I would like to ask please if somebody could help me in looking for a fix.

By now, I do not get any change in backlight with the command smartdimmer, since seems like the packages don't recognized well the card, however in the file:

/usr/src/nvidiabl-laptops.h they mention the vaio AW-11 which suppose that is the same motherboard than mine the Aw-290J, but still no luck.

so I will be very gratefull if may be possible some help with this issue.

Thanks for take time to answer.

Well, about the questions,

a-No the keys in keyboard Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 do not solve or made change to the backlight brightness, in the solution that I am trying to use they now could show in the screen the slide bar show and increase and decreases but no change in the light level.

b-I try the tip of of press Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 in the boot proces before X and no luck, and also the brightness slide control on the powermanager panel widget shows the slide bar and also increase and decreases just ike the function keys, but also without any change in backlight brightness level.

By now I am try the solution of this link:

and by now I edited the deb and installed it with AW-290J model in laptops list and the module driver loads fine, is reported by the system and the Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 keys change the value on the backlight register that supposes that changes the backlight, so everything seems to be fine to work but... the backlight dont change the level... :-(

So, thank You very much for take time to annswer, and so, if there some other help suggestion It will be very welcome, since by now I stuck without know what more to search.
