    Sound Crackles

    Hi,

64 bit 11.04 installed. When I first play a sound file on bootup the sound is just horrible. It sounds like static and white noise. Once I open and close a couple of windows it sometimes disappears.

Once gone it stays gone but it's awfully annoying.

I have ATI HDMI sound through pulseaudio. Tried changing configurations but to no avail.

    Any ideas?
    robert.

    Re: Sound Crackles

Need more facts and less anecdotal evidence.
    Open a Konsole and run
    lspci
and past the output in your next msg. Do the same with
    lsmod

      Re: Sound Crackles

I'm having the same problem, I also can't get anything to recognize my microphone even though its plugged in. I've tried changed all the Kmix, and sound defaults to onboard sound, but I still have a problem. Especially with skype. Here are my results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
