not for nothing but this NVIDIA problem has been going on for YEARS in linux ..... how are we ever going to convince people to use this OS if everytime there is an upgrade the video goes to pot?

its the nvidia drivers sadly they (nvidia) do not help make any open source drivers, or provide any specifications about their hardware.the open driver has to then be basicly reverse engineered to get a chipset working, and their properitary driver is only compiled angist a certian version of the kernel when its released. i know its not a good answer, but i suggest an intel or ati card in the future at least they help the community w/ open drivers and/or hardware specifications. Complain to Nvidia but i don't think they will care but, stop giving them your money and they might start to care.

Also you do know this is a known issue w/ the nvidia driver and compiz right , why not just use the built in Kwin compositor it does almost all of what compiz does but works correctly in kde
