Re: SOLVED Lost floppy in upgrade to 11.04

Hi all, I have the same problem and I have changed the to /dev/fd0u1440 in fastab and restarted. But the floppy is not in the dolphin side bar. And I have to mount it manually from terminal.

We never found out why this was the case.
I have the same problem and I have changed the floppy to /dev/fd0u1440 and I am unable to mount.

I have a reproduceable error when I try to mount everytime, my screen turns black and a matrix like effect occurs.

I have a graphics card that had hardware acceleration support in 10.10 and lower but since then it dosen't have that support.

I guess I have to fix this problem before I can resolve the floppy drive problem.

It has been some time since I tried it, but several versions ago, it was only necessary to

        Code:
        sudo modprobe floppy
        to enable the diskette drive.

So this would mean, since 1440 is very similar to 1.44 mb for a double sided high density 3.5" floppy that in the "newest" kernels/whatever one has to designate the SIZE of the floppy, or floppy drive, in question in order to mount same?

          just a question
