Lost flash after a simple update

I'm on Kubuntu 11.04 Beta 2 (fresh install). Flash worked fine out-of-the-box, but after I made a simple update and installed a couple of unrelated programs (geany, gedit, emacs...) it just stopped working. When I open Chromium or Firefox and go to youtube I get:

You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video.
    Download it from Adobe.

I tried to uninstall flash with KPackageKit but to no avail.

Otherwise it seems like a great release.

ah yes ! flash was updated (the history feature of kpackagekit is nice),

So why is this version of flash not working ? Is there a way to either make it work or go back the last version ?

Re: Lost flash after a simple update

I have found that flash is a constant headache in firefox.

If you are using the 32-bit version of firefox, you must also use the 32-bit version of flash; if you use the 64-bit version of firefox, you must use the 64-bit version of flash. You can't mix them.

You may need to find where the flash binary is:

        locate libflashplayer.so

and create a symbolic link from /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins to wherever libflashplayer.so is.
