    [Solved] Racist keyboard layout.

    I have set my keyboard layout to swiss german sun keys and got rid of the US layout.

    At reboot / boot my DT goes to US layout automaticly and I have to reinstate CH-german every time.

    Slight pita.

    Any one else?

      Good one kubicle.

      Havent looked there for a very long time.

      Doesn't even exist on my maverick install

      anyway:
      XKBMODEL="pc105"
      XKBLAYOUT="us"
      XKBVARIANT=""
      XKBOPTIONS=""
      I will change it to ch.

      Should have been done by sys settings or install.

      Well we are talking alpha3 here
      Cheers

        It's a new config for Natty.

        Previously console-setup set the default console keyboard layout and xkb set the X keyboard layout, now /etc/default/keyboard should handle both defaults...it's still a bit rough around the edges, though.

          That is putting in nicely, if you have to edit by hand

          Anyway this works:
          # If you change any of the following variables and X is configured to
          # use this file, then the changes will become visible to X only if udev
          # is restarted. You may need to reboot the system.

          # The following variables describe your keyboard and can have the same
          # values as the XkbModel, XkbLayout, XkbVariant and XkbOptions options
          # in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

          XKBMODEL="pc105"
          XKBLAYOUT="ch"
          XKBVARIANT="Deutsch,Sun-Akzenttasten"
          XKBOPTIONS=""

          # If you don't want to use the XKB layout on the console, you can
          # specify an alternative keymap. Make sure it will be accessible
          # before /usr is mounted.
          # KMAP=/etc/console-setup/defkeymap.kmap.gz
          Thanks
