Shutdown via GUI hangs, as of today

sudo shutdown now -h

at the CLI works correctly, of course.

Anyone else see this?

Desktop or Laptop PC? 32, or 64-bit OS?

I'll check this tonight when I get home, but so far Natty, on my Toshiba, shuts down properly - it did last night.

32-bit, guest running on VM in VirtualBox. No other problems that I can see. Chromium browser and rekonq work fine, flash and java work, and audio.

just ran off 106 updates after reading this post..........reboot fine exept a synapticks crash report witch I let it file on launchpad

then did a GUI shutdown twice no prob's ......in fact it shutdown so fast I wander if it is ok .....LOL

I can confirm.
After todays update I cannot shutdown/reboot/logout from the GUI either.

Well, it's another day, and today's update brought a load of new xserver-xorg-video drivers. The shutdown issue seems to be fixed.

I've updated my Latitude 2100 netbook, running 10.10, to to KDE 4.6 on the backport ppa and can't shutdown via the GUI (cmd line fine). Do you think I should go for the x server update too? Which PPA would be the one for that?

Done the update and shutdown works again!
