Can you elaborate please? What do you mean by 'hebrew entry'? I'm assuming you don't mean the hebrew dictionary itself.

      you're right.
      sorry.
i don't have any hebrew dictonary installed.
yet, i have this "hebrew" entry in the dictonary drop down in kmail's composer's window

      EDIT:
and i never installed any hebrew dictionary or language support of any sort.
this entry's been there since installation.

Edit the file /usr/share/dict/american-english (as root) to delete the entries:

        Hebrew
        Hebrew's
        Hebrews

          thanks mate.
          sorry for being so late.
          no joy.
don't think this is the actual issue.
it's not a word (or a bunch of words) from the english dictionary i want to get rid of.
it's a dictionary option/entry in the composer's dictionary drop down menu.
a dictionary i actually do not have on my system (don't have, don't need, don't want, ...).
see snapshot of the composer window...just for clarity.

just found out it's not just kmail.
when i want to set the default spell checker in system settings i have the same issue.
            see attached snapshot.
            cheers.

Re: [UPDATE] rid kmail from hebrew

i tried to actually install the hebrew language support and then remove it.
i was kind of hoping the that would clean up some possible dirt left off from installation.
              but it didn't work.

              the following command
              Code:
              grep -Hrni hebrew .kde
run in my home directory didn't find anything ei

am i the only one with this funny hebrew entry in these drop downs?

              cheers
