    Closing a running program

    Here's a simple one, I think.

I thought I closed Thunderbird, and no Tbird icon appears in my bottom panel, but when I try to open it again I'm told that it's already running and that I should either close it or restart the system.

Where do I obtain a list of the programs or processes that are running, so I can select one and close it?

Hit Ctrl-Esc. That'll bring up krunner System Activity. From there you can right click on the T-Bird process and kill/end it. You can also get there by hitting Alt-F2 and clicking on the "heartbeat" looking icon.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for.
