    Digikam in repositories?

Does anyone know if, when, how a version of Digikam newer than 1.4 might make it into the Kubuntu repositories? I think they're up to 1.9 or 2.0 now. Debian sid still has 1.4.

PS: Woodsmoke --- good to see you here!

It won't make it into the standard repositories, necessarily due to how Ubuntu's repos work in terms of new software versions.

However, the Kubuntu devs do provide packages for 1.8 in their kubuntu-backports ppa
    https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+archive/backports
You may be able to manually download and install digikam and kipi plugins from there, but adding that repo will also get you KDE 4.6.1

Someone on their own have packaged digikam for Maverick/KDE 4.5.x here
    https://launchpad.net/~aicoles/+archive/digikam
but as with any PPA you use at your own risk

Thanks, claydoh. I'll skim through the digikam archives before doing anything drastic. My 1.4 works pretty well.
