    Plasma panel locks up system

While adding stuff to a panel, I accidentally added so much that the panel got larger than the screen height (this was a vertical panel). It might have been adding a spacer that caused the problem, or it may just be that the spacer caused the panel to grow too large. This caused the panel to just flicker, and effectively locked up Plasma. When I reboot, the same thing happens as soon as Plasma is loaded.

I can redo the panel properly if I just manage to get rid of it. However, I don't know how to get rid of it without the GUI for it. I'm sure there is some configuration file that can be edited, but I can't find it (and it doesn't help that the locked Plasma eats CPU cycles like a starving kid at McDonalds eats burgers).

    Help!

(Btw, is there any way to move or remove spacers)

When you are in the login screen - don't login - press: Ctrl + Alt + F1.
    This should start virtual console.

Login in the text mode. After you are in:

    1) Rename the plasma config files:

    ~/.kde/share/config/plasma-appletsrc
    ~/.kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc
    ~/.kde/share/config/plasma-desktoprc
    ~/.kde/share/config/plasmarc

    or

    2) Rename your existing kde folder.

    or

    3) Edit the plasma-desktop-appletsrc.

Btw, is there any way to move or remove spacers
Click the panel cashew and there shoud be a "compass rose" to move and a X to delete the spacer.

    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Thanks, will try when I get home, or tomorrow, depending on when I can get a vet appointment for a little friend who is very ill.
