I recently purchased the FiiO E9 and E7 USB DAC and desktop amplifier. I've got it setup and working properly when I provide line input via an MP3 player, but when I use the USB DAC with Kubuntu, I get no sound at all. It's as if Kubuntu isn't supplying any sound over the USB DAC.
Now, as soon as I plug my USB DAC into my computer, Kubuntu recognizes the USB DAC, and adds it as a channel in Kmix. I figured this means that the USB DAC itself is working, and that there is some deeper problem with Kubuntu that causes it not to work. I've set the USB DAC as the master channel, but still have no sound.
If any of you have suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
