Where is desktop config information stored?

Where does KDE/Kubuntu keep its information about one's desktop configuration (the location of the background images in particular)? I assume it's somewhere among the dot-files -- but where?

Look in ~/.kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc, in the "Containment -- Wallpapers" stanza.

i know i have had to nuke a config for plasma from time to time, and when its all set up nice it kinda hurts to remove the whole file. then i end up looking for just the offending line for removal.

There's a story of why I know that. It has to do with setting conky to automatically grab the correct background image to be "transparent".
