Open Office Word Processor - Spellcheck not working. (Solved)

Using OO 3.2 on Kubuntu 10.10. The application works fine if one overlooks the tendency to hog memory.

However, in my case the spell check does not check anything. Even the most glaring typos are generously overlooked by the spell checker. It just announcing happily: 'Spell check complete.'

I attempted to find the appropriate setting in options/preferences but could not find anything.

Any suggestions, please?

Thanks for the link. I have indeed a discrepancy between languages. In one OO screen it gives German as language while all other settings refer correctly to English.

Followed the instruction in the link. Settings revert back to German.

My laptop dual boots XP (in German) and Kubuntu. Could that affect the recurring German setting in OO? I don't think so but who knows . . .
