I just installed Kubuntu 10.10 on my laptop with Nvidia Geforce 8400. At first it was fine, but after an update which included the new drivers for Nvidia and the new Linux kernel (it's just my guess, maybe it has nothing to do with the update)l, now every element in the desktop and KDE panel is locked every now and then. It is impossible to click on them or close them and after a while, it restores to the previous workable state. Every other element in the windows that has nothing to do with KDE like Firefox or Pidgin works just fine, but it is impossible to restore them from the taskbar and Alt+Tab should be used. What is wrong with what? Is there any solution?
I just began to love KDE when this happened.
UPDATE: It looks like it has something to do with my external NTFS hard drive. When I eject it it happens less frequent and for a shorter period of time. Any solution?
