The Firefox release in 10.10 is really frustrating.
Some web sites never seem to finish processing and display - the only thing Firefox displays is the little icon that it is processing and processing and processing and processing and ..............
Also, when I try to print some sites as *.ps or *.pdf documents, the formatting is totally mangled and most of the time only the first, mangled page is output. This makes printing web sites from Firefox extremely unreliable.
I have found that using Chrome on the same sites that Firefox never stops processing and hence never displays, Chrome displays the site in seconds. I had started thinking that either my DSL line was at fault or the sites web server was over whelmed. Then I thought of trying Chrome and learned otherwise.
Similarly, when Firefox is totally unable to print a usable *.ps or *.pdf document of a web site, Chrome does so quickly and with no mangling or distortion of the contents.
I am now about 50% convinced in making Chrome my default browser and abandoning Firefox totally.
Firefox was good in the past, but I think the developers may be overwhelmed now with trying to maintain it and still advance it's feature set. Maybe in trying to add more features, they are ignoring the act of maintaining it's capabilities and letting them degrade to the point that they are no longer useful or even working.
Any other good browsers out there that are challenging FireFox and Chrome and are as good as or better than Chrome??
Right now, I'm finding it difficult to totally abandon FireFox - it is still my default browser, but the frustration level with it rises every day that a web site doesn't display, but does so under Chrome in seconds and it cannot print a web site and Chrome does so quickly and accurately.
Unfortunately, I'm finding more and more web sites for which both problems exist under FireFox, but not Chrome.
