[solved] KDE 4.5.2: Font installer doesn't install fonts

Let's say I run the font installer via System Settings, or right-click on a TTF file and pick "Actions -> Install...". A requester pops up asking me if I want to install the font for personal use or system-wide. "Personal" works. But when I pick "System", instead of an authorization request I get an error dialogue along the lines of:
    ___________________

    Error
    file:///home/anj/collect/fonts/AnonymousPro-1.002/Anonymous Pro B.ttf already exists.
    ___________________

Makes no sense to me: that path is the source file; of course it already exists! That file is what I want to install, not where I want to install it!

    Does that happen to everyone?

Works as expected here with 4.5.2 (although I'm using Natty Narwhal).

Are you trying to install a system font that you've already installed as a user font?
(in that case, I think, you have to remove the user font to add it as a system font)

Yes and no... it happens for fonts that don't show up in any font selectors (or the font installer) but which nonetheless exist on disc. I guess that can happen when you keep a /usr/local partition across installations.

      Well, that was easy :P

Still, the error message seems a tad misleading to me.
