    Lost all my sound.

    Hi,
I've lost all my sound. I get the idea my sound card isn't recognised because Pulse Audio gui claims I have a Dummy Output.

Can you advise me on my next move please?

    Thanks for your time.

Telling us about your sound card/chip set would be helpful. :P

        Same problem on VIA

I have the same problem -- unexplained Dummy Output -- with a VIA VT1708S chip (Asus K60I laptop). In my case the sound was working for a couple of hours and then stopped, and the Dummy Output replaced the correct output (which I can't recall at the moment and isn't visible now).
