    Size of kmenu icon

i was trying the other days to tweak a little the appearance of my panel. Especially the kmenu icon. So i went to kde-look.org and found some cool icons BUT when i tried to apply one, which was slightly bigger that the default, well it looked like crap. it supposed to be like twice the size of the original, but instead of appearing at it's natural size, it got shrunk to the default values.
Any way to get my custom made kmenu icons look the way they should ?

(It's Linux so I guess the answer is Yes...)

Can you right-click on the Kmenu icon, select "application Launcher Settings", and change the icon from there?

Of course I tried that. Thats the point... By doing that and selecting a larger icon than the default, it gets shrunk. Not proportional, only sideways ... as if it was pressed.
If the default icon has 16x16 size and the new one has 32x16... well ... imagine the 32x16 forced to look as if it were 16x16 ... get it ?

How can i make it stay 32x16 ?

(Size numbers are used to make a point, the real values i do not know, but proportions are the same as in the above example)

        Re: Size of kmenu icon

you would need to either physically resize the icon in an editor or find a version with the correct size you need -- or preferably use svg icons, which are scalable - and what KDE uses by default. Your custom icons probably aren't scalable.

Give us some links to those you have tried that do this and we can take a look at them and see what needs to be done

          http://kde-look.org/content/show.php...?content=69228

That is the page i got my icons from. The icon in case is located on the first column, 4 place (With the Kubuntu logo)
They are .png icons. BUT THEY ARE SO COOL !!

          Thanks for support

Convert them to .svg using ImageMagick? imagemagick is available in the standard repositories.

Well, I seem to have been to 'quick-on-the-draw'. ImageMagick says that it supports .svg formats, but apparently not fully, or maybe, not for converting to. As to "but there is no way to use it...", ImageMagick is a 'suite' of command line applications. Convert is the ImageMagick utility. Open a console and type convert --help or man convert to learn how to use it.
