I learned recently what exactly compiz is, and what is does and how this 'Emerald' thingy made pretty desktops. It's true! I have the prettiest DE EVER!! Also, When people walk into my room I like to spin my desktop around to show off. they are always amazed

How do you get compiz to work? I tried enabling the wiggly windows feature and it wouldn't do it.

It turns out that I was able to enable wobbly windows (thank you) by going into the KDE Control Module and enabling it there. There must be some kind of conflict between it and the Compiz settings manager.

@ardvark71 you can onley run 1 or the other at a time (Compiz or kwin) it would appear as though you'r using kwin at the moment!
if you want to play with both install the fusion-icon package .
once instaled it will be in kickoff>applications>system if you run it it will place a icon in the system tray that provides an easy way to switch betwen them (Compiz or kwin) and the window decorator's kde4,GTK,emerald

their will be quirks.........compiz will change some of kwin's setting's .....but you can change back when you switch back
