[Modedit: moved at OP's request.]
Hi,
I'd appreciate it if you could help me with this issue:
I just made a fresh installation of Kubuntu 11.10 using the Alternate CD to install the root system into a specific partition. The rest of the partitions contain data. I have a nvidia GT240 card and this computer used to run Kubuntu 10.10 with little problems.
The installation went through without a hitch, however when I boot the computer I get a blue screen for a few seconds then a I get some garbage on this blue screen and then a solid black screen for good. Seems like X didn't start. I get no text whatsoever so I don't have a clue what's going on. I have no access to the other terminals, I cannot get into GRUB holding shift, and since I didn't get a change to install openssh so I can't get in remotely either.
Any ideas on what to do?
Thanks.
