[SOLVED] Different Widgets to each desktop?

Kubuntu 10.10 running KDE 4.5.1 on an ASUS EEE PC 1005PEB. Running Plasma Netbook interface.

I want to add different backgrounds to my virtual desktop. Every post I've searched says to go into settings and click on the "different widgets to each desktop". However, when I go there, that box is greyed out and I have no access. I'm guessing this is some sort of permissions issue, but I do not know. Any/all assistance appreciated.

    Update:
Looks like the issue is in fact the "netbook" vs. "desktop" interface. Switching to the latter lets me click the "different widgets" button.

That said, the netbook interface is nicer for my, um, netbook. So, is there another workaround?

rite click the desktop pager (the icon on the panel for desktops ....you may have to go to the desktop interface first)...click the pager settings.....click vertual desktops ...thar is the check box that you want

Thanks, Vinny. Yes, I got that part, unfortunately if you change back to "netbook" interface, those changes do not come with it and you can again not click the "different widgets" button. So far as I can tell then, the option of multiple desktops with different wallpaper only works on the desktop interface in KDE 4.5?

            OOPS ... eating crow now
you seam to be correct I couldn't enable the different widgets for each desktop from the netbook UI ether..............BUT you can enabel the search and launch from the desktop UI ........so it could be kinda what you want

            hears an exampel...............

cube......one desktop and one search and launch different wallpapers

and one newspaper and one folder view with different wallpapers

strangely enough and on a side note rekonq couldn't upload the screen shots to photobucket so I installed firefox and it did

so you were right the different widgets for each desktop IS disabled in the netbook UI in a default 10.10
            :P
