widgets have changed how I interact with the computer/desktop.

    For once a short post!

Yes, there is a clock in the panel, and, yes I can put a link to the weather station in the taskbar, or on the desktop or in a dock.

But, being able to SIMPLY, place something like a large clock or weather prediction or cpu use etc. on the desktop, and when I don't need it remove it knowing that I can easily repeat the process really has changed how I interact with the desktop.

I know that the plasma desktop is not unique to Kubu but Kubu is the first one that I have found to be stable.

Great job devs! AND forum members! Without your testing and feedback Kubu would not be the polished distro that it is!

I've found much joy in the Picture widget. Since it goes through all my photo albums, I've been finding old gems and lost memories I had completely forgotten about.

I second this commendation. I was using openSUSE with KDE4 on my network slave machine but it was so unstable! The stability of the Kubuntu implementation (10.04 especially) is a bit of a treat.
        Home: Kubuntu 12.04-amd64; Intel i7-860 on Intel DH55PJ; Nvidia 9500GT; 6GB RAM
Network Slave: Xubuntu 11.10-x86; Intel P4-Prescott on MSI; 2GB RAM; Nvidia FX5200
Portable: Xubuntu 11.10-amd64; Asus EeePC 1015PEM
