Can anyone access Windows shares from 10.10? This might be a bug as I've seen several mentions but no fix.
I've tried accessing Windows shares on various Win boxes and FreeNAS without success.
I've tried this with Ubuntu & Kubuntu on both physical and virtual (VM Guest) systems.
The symptoms are the same, the 10.10 system can't see the several Windows shares that exist on the network.
The symptoms seem to be at the SAMBA layer not the network as I can access the Internet from the 10.10 systems, can ping the other hosts on the network and can even use remote desktop sharing to access the 10.10 systems from different systems on the network. Obviously network connectivity works as the 110.10 systems get their IP addresses from the DHCP server on the network.
Other notes, the virtual 10.10 systems are running on VM Workstation 7.1.3 with the latest tools. The physicals 10.10 systems are running on white-box systems.
So the question is.... Is anyone able to access Windows shares from either Ubuntu or Kubuntu 10.10 system? Were any config changes needed after the base install?
