This is my first post to these forums and my first 2 installs of a Linux product. One I installed on my home PC as a dual boot (xp and Kubuntu) the other on my laptop as the only os. Ive been having problems keeping a network connection. tried dynamic and static. Seems every time I reboot I loose the connection and eventually I get it back (haven't quite figured out how, seems I just keep messing around and it finally comes up). Ive read that WICD is a much more stable network connection manager but from all Ive read I cant find out where to download a copy that would work with 10.10. Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Installing WICD and removing Network manager in Kubuntu 10.10
OK. now... where to find a download of WICD that is compatable with 10.10. and steps to uninstall the network manager application?
I am very new to Kubuntu so even using the "package manager" is something of a mystery to me.

OK I think I figured out that you don't actually REMOVE the resident Network Manager that is running in the task bar. I right clicked it and told it not to run.. restarted the laptop and walahhh.
Thanks for the help sithlord48
Have a feeling this is going to be an interesting and challenging adventure!
