Re: KDE 4.6 for maverick?
Yes, KDE has announced the release, but Kubuntu still doesn't have the full compliment of packages in ppa:kubuntu-ppa/beta yet. :PWindows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: KDE 4.6 for maverick?
they are working on it.
The flow usually goes this way:
Attempt to build packages for Natty -- find things that don't build -- fix those things -- finally build for Natty -- backport to Maverick -- find and fix things that don't build there
it should be available fairly soon, I think the holiday this week slowed stuff down just a little

"backport to Maverick"
Does that mean into ppa:kubuntu-ppa/ppa or to ppa:kubuntu-ppa/beta ?Windows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: KDE 4.6 for maverick?
as it is beta, then it will be in beta
it will still be a backport of Natty packages to maverick, however

Ah, got it.
Maverick
The plan:
Packaging in ninjas
Build locally and check for missing files
Upload to kubuntu-ninjas with ~maverick1~ppa1
copy over to ~kubuntu-ppa/beta on releaseWindows no longer obstructs my view.

Re: KDE 4.6 for maverick?
As impatient as I am, I appreciate them taking the time to get the packaging right.
To satisfy my 4.6B1 fix I've been trying out OpenSUSE 11.3+Factory and 11.4M4. Everytime I do this I am remined of why I stick with Kubuntu - rpm is a freaking nightmare. There are *always* issues with dependancies and broken upgrades. I find the deb system so much cleaner and easier to use.
And my Linux learning started off with RPM based systems first (Mandrake), you'd think I would be more used to it then deb.

Re: KDE 4.6 for maverick?
I don't know if I have all the packages, there were quite a few (well over 100).
I'll check later.
all beta2 packages haven't been built yet, which means you get a mixed beta1/beta2 kde if you upgrade now...which is generally a bad idea.

Re: KDE 4.6 for maverick?
I checked for updates today. No new kde's.
I cannot add an application to the desktop. The quick view widget on the panel does not respond and the applications on the panel are unresponsive as well.
Will try natty over the weekend.HP Pavilion dv6 core i7 (Main)
