New memory, Kubutu gone, normal UBU present, how to fix.

I thought I'd add some more memory, went from one gig to two gigs and WOAH! I had a plain vanilla brown ubu setup!

Now what was really weird was I got a warning box that my video settings had changed!

I imagine it was because the machine now has more RAM to play with for video cache in addition to the cards memory, but I may be wrong on that, and if so somebody more knowledgable should correct me.

Well, I looked at the info and didn't see anything about restarting anything like 'xorg" and so canceled and got the plain vanilla ubu setup.

So I restarted and then there was an option to restart xorg, (that is the part of the OS that organizes the information about the video drivers, for those new to Linux), and things ran nice and snappy, but I still had the plain vanilla ubu screen.

So I restarted again and this time at the login screen there is little arrow on the bottom left of the box, click it and you will "probably" find that none of the buttons are checked.

To get the Kubuntu desktop back tick the KDE button.

hope this helps some and if I there are other questions, please ask.
