I have just tried installing Kubuntu 10.10 through wubi, everything goes fine until reboot. Splash screen comes up, then screen goes black and this message comes up - "process:269 GLib-WARNING**:getpwuid_r():failed due to unknown user id". Nb-the number changes each time I try. The mouse pointer appears and can be moved. I had graphics problems with Ubuntu 10.04 which I was able to fix with a boot command change of "i915.modeset=1" in place of "quiet splash", I even tried that with this problem, but to no avail. Any help would be very much appreciated.
