after login -a kdesu panel appears and asks for password

    Dear Readers,
    Running kubuntu 10,10 here .
Every time after booting the main screen appears. Everying ok .
Then a small panel with 'kdesu' appears and asks for the password.
After typing in the password twice this panel disappears.
    This is annoying!

    Thank you for any help

    kubuntu is the only one.

Most of the time this has to do with a start-up application wanting authentication. For me, it's always been either Amarok (the last.fm component) or KWalletManager.

Does the kdesu screen have any ownership (does it indicate which program is asking for authentication)? If it is KWalletManger (a wallet icon in the tray), you can configure it to not bother you when KDE starts.
    Home: Kubuntu 12.04-amd64; Intel i7-860 on Intel DH55PJ; Nvidia 9500GT; 6GB RAM
Network Slave: Xubuntu 11.10-x86; Intel P4-Prescott on MSI; 2GB RAM; Nvidia FX5200
Portable: Xubuntu 11.10-amd64; Asus EeePC 1015PEM
