    my machine at ttyl screen [SOLVED READ FOR NVIDIA ISSUES ]

    hers what happen to me. I was doing the upgrade form kpackage kit realized i dint have time. then i had many errors so i ran a sudo dpgk -f i think any want lots of packages update redid themselves i don't know then it asked me if i wanted to go with the new package manger . all seemed good and it asked for a reboot, (i wish i had finished the upgrade before then) my computer sasy i am upgraded to 10,10 but it seems xorg wont load and i don't know what nvida driver i would need. I tried sudo apt-get upgate form the ttyl it sasy no public key then spits out a number . how to i finish the upgrade ? what can i do to get to a place wher all the upgrade go thur grub says i have 10.10 and i cant seem to get a live cd to work.

    is there any fixes? my xorg is what is failign but with doing an update how will i knwo waht mising form the instal?

        this works if you have an issue where the nvidia drivers a broken
        got rid of the problem by simply removing the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file

        oonce i got to the X11 directory i typed (cd .. and cd {dir names}
        Sudo rm xorg.conf -f

        This fixed the issue

          I had a similar problem when upgrading from 10.04 LTS, but don't seems to be a Nvidia problem.

          After GRUB, the Kubuntu splash screen is showed normally.
          And, before showing the auth screen, it changes to text mode.

          Does anybody else had this problem?

          I think it's a Xorg problem.

            try reinstalling nvidia driver. lots of stuff gets messed up when upgrading.
